About TSH
TSH is a platform dedicated to driving Taiwan’s transformation toward sustainability by linking knowledge, policy, and governance. Supported by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), TSH fosters transdisciplinary research (TDR) that integrates knowledge across fields, encourages collaboration between scholars and social stakeholders, and promotes knowledge-based policy discussions and actions. By addressing complexity and change, TSH aims to develop practical, systemic solutions and outline pathways for Taiwan's sustainable transformation.
Operation
To tackle sustainability challenges, TSH operates through three main components.
Partner Networks
These are institutional partnerships with academic and research organizations across Taiwan. Hub Sites focus on transdisciplinary collaboration, integrating knowledge domains to address specific sustainability challenges. They act as localized centers of expertise, driving research, policy innovation, and practical solutions in areas such as forest sustainability, coastal governance, clean air, and social-ecological resilience. There are eight Hub Sites, each contributing unique insights and approaches to sustainability issues.

This network fosters connections with non-academic stakeholders, including NGOs, community organizations, and industry partners. Hub U (hó-pîng-iú, meaning "good friends" in Taiwanese) encourages the exchange of experiences and ideas among practitioners, enabling cross-sectoral dialogue and collaboration. By linking research with real-world application, this network bridges the gap between knowledge and action, promoting community-driven solutions for sustainable development.
